Structure of current Steering Committee

Wow - the Dec 3rd meeting has generated a lot of new volunteers for the club - excellent!!!

Here is the current status quo;

Brain Burke – Road racing
Mike Pierzchalski – Coaching (Youth & Adult / Road)
Barb Kennedy – Events Coordinator
Deb Attrill – Events coordinator
Graham Punnett –
Dave Lieskovsky –
Glenn Clark – City route improvements / expansions, and council liaison
Denise Melenka – Secretary / Treasurer
Des Snider – Road Racing
Lucy Reiss – Grants and ideas for fund-raising events
Travis Kvoschinsky – Youth involvement programs (Dirt)
Nada Joss – Youth involvement programs (Road)
Andrew Drouin – Trail Tools & Equip’/ Mapping / Web / Land negotiation-acquisition
Rowena – Web (as soon as the club gets its own web server site) & Bike Shop liaison
Jay Lindsey – Promotions (Penticton BC; The Bike Capitol of Canada!)
Sybilla Bartram – Female participation programs

I’ve left some placeholders blank as I didn’t want to speak for these individuals – please let me know what positions you folks are interested in assuming. Spots yet to be filled that immediately come to mind include;

• A safety officer who would inspect certified trails under club management and eventually, technical features in a Skills Park. I’ve yet to approach my brother in law, who is multi-certified by the Okanagan School Board as their safety coordinator, but will this week.
• Another person to help fund-raise (cannot have enough of these people!)
• Director of XC / Freeride / All-Mountain Activities
• Director of Membership / Recruitment / paper-work associated with this position
• Adult ‘Dirt’ riders coaching skills
