New Golden Mile Trail - Oliver

Enjoyed a positive and productive meeting with Tinhorn Creek Winery management in Oliver this afternoon.  They are keen to expand the now-much-abbreviated Golden Mile Trail in the foothills above the ranch - and the Trail Alliance is going to partner with them in doing so.

As such, this is pretty-much a "Calling All Oliverites" missive.

Tinhorn and Co. are one of the [few] land-owners / managers encouraging public access to the crown lands on the western slopes above the city of Oliver, via their property.  For this cool gesture, we are going to support them in every way possible.

This will take the form of us GPS'ing a new trail network - based on a mix of game-trails, new trail surface builds and existing / signed singletrack.  Together with management, we'll submit our project to the Ministry of Forests, gain acceptance and dig some new trails -- with AMAZING vistas!

This Spring of 2015 project will not only see a reinvigorated Golden Mile Trail and legacy, but also cement relationships between trail-advocates and gateway land managers.  Land-managers who love trails as much as we do!

We invite you to join us this spring in exploring the terrain and offering your input on routes that we select.
