KVR - Motorized use issue
I suggest that it wouldn't be a waste of time to review the Trails BC linked document on the main page: www.bikepenticton.com
These folks are doing their best to maintain the KVR as a non-motorized recreation facility, and I for one support their efforts. This, from a current dirt-bike rider and one who has previously spent thousands of hours piloting quads while working at ski resorts.
Though motorized recreationalists argue that they have "a right" to use the KVR as much as anyone, you will be hard pressed to find any of them doing trail maintenance on this former rail-bed. They will also argue that, used with a modicum of reason and responsibility, dirt-bikes and quads don't necessarily cause erosion and loosening of trail surfaces.
Unfortunately, only a small fraction of motorized recreationalists apply common sense and logic while enjoying their chosen vehicles.
Speak up / email / write / support Trails BC in their efforts to at least keep the status-quo on the KVR.
