Revelstoke Road-Trip - Details
Hi all,
Regarding inquiries about the upcoming Revelstoke Road Trip to ride both the new Frisbee Ridge trail (Saturday) and Keystone Basin trail (Sunday), here is the gist of the gig; it goes Sept. 14/15/16 (Friday/Saturday/Sunday) This is [not] organized as a PACA Bike Club event, so no insurance or any of the other accoutrements of PACA membership apply.
We'll work a regular Friday workday, then head out after work for Revy'. We'll be staying at the KOA Chalets, which host four people and have all of the bells and whistles of creature comfort; showers, electricity etc. The rate for this is $33.32 per person, per night, tax incl., staying four people per chalet.
Camping is available, but seeing as camping is $25.30 per night, I figured that for under ten bucks a night additional cost, we'd be crazy to sleep in a tent! The chalets require us to bring sleeping bags and towels however, as linen is extra.
There is also an 'in-betweener' option at the KOA, called 'cabins', but these only have beds and electricity, no running water. The cabin / chalet stuff etc., is explained here: http://www.revelstokekoa.com
We'd like to keep this to eight riders or less if possible, so please get back to me with your "I'm in" missives ASAP so I can make the bookings. Links to learn about Frisbee Ridge and Keystone Basin are here:

This whole gig is, as always, "Weather Permitting"

Revy' - Day 1
Frisbee Ridge - my new absolute benchmark in flowy singletrack. We rode Frisby and a "secret" DH trail below the Frisby parking lot down to the valley; how's 5013 feet of vertical drop in one shot grab ya'!
Wow!
Tomorrow brings Keystone Standard Basin; the weather is perfect and the bugs are pretty much dead as doornails - though a resilient horsefly or two needed killin'
Pics and full details when I get back to the Okanagan

Keystone Standard Basin
We rode Keystone Standard Basin today: its (way) more challenging than Frisby Ridge! 11km in sounds like a piece of cake - but it turns out to be one bloody serious ascent / descent!
Yet another day of flabergastingly beautiful vistas all around us, peppered with many new friends and even an old one!
Pictures and more when I get back to town; am off to Revy's Mt.top National Park and the wolf sanctuary tomorrow.

Mt.Revelstoke National Park
Bagged the summit of Mt.Revelstoke this afternoon... in my car!
Who knew that its possible to drive pavement to an elevation of 6400' vert?!
The summit provides a perfect 360 degree view of the Selkirk and Monashee range, glacier clad in all of their shimmering glory!
There also exists beauty singletrack top to bottom, but riding it is strictly forbidden! I'm guessing that this is a 'Locals Secret' poach-fest after the tourist season wraps up - or perhaps a mind-altering night-ride!!!
Pics' when I return to the Okanagan.
