Windows 8 "The Cure" (for it)
So you bought yourself a shiny new PC and it came loaded with Windows 8. Ohhh, neat-o you exclaim as it boots up...
What the???!
Ya, the START button is gone, replaced by the oh-so-annoying "Metro" interface. Heck, a bunch of the things that you loved about Windows 7 and below are now "gone".
The cure for this amazingly arrogant bit of Microsoft marketing genius is here:

This Open Source application allows you to get it all back baby! I cursed Win8 for the better part of the week, after much frustration and utter amazement at the idiocy of the new OS, I installed the 'Classic Shell' software and haven't looked back at Win7 longingly ever since.

I thought MS had an option to turn off the ridiculous 'tablet' interface? Still doesn't revert back to layout we've used for 15 years?

I'm still running XP. Haven't had the need to upgrade.
