Apex Area Tree Harvest Plan

If anyone has an interest in voicing their opinions on the 2012 >>> tree harvest plans for Apex and area, take a look at the linked PDF file which highlights the gig here.

It looks like most of the established trails are barely affected, though I'm sure that at least one or more that I don't know about will suffer a fate of destruction.

The West Apex Trail Network has however, been chewed to bits in two sections from 2011/2012 tree harvesting. I'd estimate that a km or more of it is 'toast', and the area that it passes through has been left in a freakin' 'lunar nuclear warfare' state... Unless you've been through it a time or two in the past, you may now need a GPS to traverse this route.

On the other hand, back-country skiers will rejoice at the new clear-cut covered in deep pow'... just watch those Tele' turns for another few weeks as a shipload of massive stumps abound just beneath the surface.
