Bike Tools
Any suggestions on a semi cheap Tool Kit for bike mechanics. Or where is the best place to buy individual tools around here or online?
I need to replace my cassette and chain, so chain whip and cassette lock ring remover are the main things.
My bikes need some tune ups and the commute to get my tools back in Australia is a little far.

Re: Bike Tools
Go to Can-Tire and buy a toolbox bigger than a shoe box (with compartments in the top tray)
- Metric Allen (hex) key set
- old pair of pliers
- #2 phillips screw driver
- T15 + T25 Torx keys
- big flat blade screwdriver for bashing and bending
- chain whip
- cassette lock ring bit (and 1/2" breaker bar if needed)
- if shimano cranks, the little plug to remove the plastic plug on the non-drive side (usually comes attached to a BB tool)
You can do pretty much everything with just an 5 and 8mm Allen key.
Or just get this little Park Tool set.
A bike stand is helpful. I built one for washing which I used to use for tinkering until I bought a descent one from MEC.
Link to the instructions I used.
