Wiltse Highland Trail
Louise and I hiked and remarked the Wiltse Highland trail this afternoon; its sporting some pretty rough spots near the bottom trailhead, but nothing that we can't fix up in a couple of hours of determined effort. I'll communicate with the Wiltse brothers in order to get permission to work their land, but I don't see it being a huge hurdle to overcome.
This is what happens when we ride wet trails... Side-hill watersheds that once sheeted over the trail at right angles, now turn and run down the trail. It looks shallow in this pic', but averages about 6" deep.
Here is a pic of the little-used, but extremely cool Wiltse Trail; trailhead. Most folks hike right on up the old, loose and eroded two-track, failing to notice the singletrack bearing south. I hope that this cairn will change that, as the trail has become so little used that its overgrown again.
