Rumble Strip Installation

This is information from the Ministry of Transportation.

Over the past few years there has been new Rumble Strip Installation guidelines put in place to help keep the traveling public safe.

Some of which include:

3.5 m non milled space after every 15 m of milled rumble strip

1 m minimum cycling shoulder width with no constraints

1.2 m minimum cycling shoulder width with constraints. Constraints could be items such as guardrail or rock wall.

Rumble strips may be placed directly on the edge of the painted shoulder line to help maintain cycling widths.

This year the Rumble Strips will be installed in these areas.
