Carmi Rec' Trails & Carmi Canyon

Mike and I did a lap around the circumference of the Carmi XC trails plus a straight shot down the Carmi Canyon trial this evening; the XC trails are still a wee bit muddy, but the Carmi Canyon trail is typically as glorious as ever, especially in the evening light.

Was too busy rippin' to take pictures, so you'll just have to head up and take in a lap for yourself!

Seth and I rode from the Garnet Fire Interpretive Center to the top of the Bog, west across the top of the Carmi Rec' trails, high-speed down the western shoulder of the Rec' trails, across the road and down the Carmi Canyon trail. After the removal of a couple of trees, the entire route is now ROCKN'ROLL!

Its a great gig; cardio on the road to gain elevation (burn off the Oatmeal Stout), uber-speed down the two-track back down to the Carmi Rec' trails parking area (aka; The Garbage Dump), and wicked technical riding down the Carmi Canyon trial -- which is still one of my all-time favorite singletrack trails in the valley!

If only we knew how spoiled we are to have this much sweet singletrack at our doorsteps :-)

Began working on a new entrance to the Carmi Canyon trail today.  Lots of work to do, but should have it completed by Mid-Oct.  No more riding through the Redneck Rampage garbage dump on the way to the amazing Carmi Canyon singletrack (one of my personal favorites in the valley).  We've had a land-use agreement in that area for years, it was a shame to not be using it much...
