Rattlesnake Lake - Sunday, May 31st

Those wishing to get in on a moderately difficult ("intermediate") ride this Sunday, May 31st are invited to join us for a trip out to Rattlesnake Lake, just above Covert Farms. Click here for full-size image

We'll park at the farm, ride across the fields, enter at the Parks BC gate and follow the excellent dual and single-track trail systems that wildlife, the Oliver Bike Club, local equestrians and Parks BC have created in the area. The ride will consist of several stacked loops of single-track and the option to head for McIntyre Bluffs - weather permitting (not too hot).

Participants should bring a tuned bike, spare tube, pump, basic tools and plenty of water. They should also bring along sunscreen and sun-glasses. This trail system is situated on an exposed area of land and one can end up with sunburn in short order if not prepared for the elements!

An excellent day! What started as a desire to check out the Rattlesnake Lake loops ended up being a visit to the McIntyre Bluffs area - and - a cruise around the Rattlesnake Loops. True to its name, we enjoyed the company of two of the Okanagan's finest Rattlers! It looks like a big season for snakes folks - these two bring the total to 9 Rattlers (plus two Bull Snakes) that I've been serenaded by so far this spring.

We wrapped up the day with a visit to Kaleden's excellent Frog City Cafe, tucked away within Linden Gardens; great eats, beautiful place!

I've been there last couple of months ago. And i love the trail! IT feels like i'm riding on to the heaven's gate. Great feeling and unforgettable experience. I'm sure I'll be back to that place again.
