Apex Trail-Days, Sunday Aug.31st & Sunday Sept.7th
A group of us are heading up to Apex Resort this Sunday and next, in order to put some life back into The Gauntlet and West Apex Trail Network.
Trail-maintenance is being conducted for many reasons, not least of which includes the fact that it's the confirmed course for Stage 2 of next summer's Singletrack6 race event.
Perhaps more important, it brings a couple of amazing trails back to a flowy, enjoyable state - and for locals and tourists alike who wish to skip the peak summer heat, its the best game in town!
We meet / depart from 601 Braid St. at 9:30am on Sunday the 31st as well as Sunday the 7th of Sept. Share your love of all-things-trail by showing up for either trail-day; clippers / loppers / saw in hand, wearing quality hiking boots, gloves and eye-protection.
A change of cloths is recommended, as weather changes happen rapidly at elevation. I'll buy 'refreshments' for the crew :-)

Apex
Today's Apex trail-day was an outstanding success, despite some crazy weather conditions.
Uber-Kudos to Pierre, Hank, Graham, Rolly, Jeff, Ken, Trish and Charlie for their hardcore efforts in majorly sprucing up The Gauntlet and the West Apex Trail Network!
Despite two degree temps (!!) at the nearly 7000 foot saddle, we completed an quantity of work. Post event beers in a nice warm alpine cabin washed away any bad memories
On that note - despite the environment challenging us, I didn't hear a single complaint! That's the spirit! Yes, quality beer goes a long way / thank you Nelson Brewing :/)
Next Sunday a group of us are heading back up for another trail-tuneup session. If you are interested in flashing some TrailLove, contact Andrew at 250.486.2443 or email andrewdrouin@gmail.com.
We're reclaiming our Apex Alpine trails, meter by meter, chainsaw-cut by chainsaw-cut!
