Announcement about Penticton to OK Falls bike path...

This morning, myself and numerous members of Okanagan Women On Wheels attended a City of Penticton meeting about Penticton & area urban cycling paths.

City engineers, planners and Urban Design contractors had some excellent ideas on bike routes, and were more than open to hear our input. The amazing news of the day however is that the provincial government has announced that, commencing post-Ironman, they will begin construction on widening eastside road to make way for a bike path between Penticton & Okanagan Falls!

Thousands of locals and tourists alike have been champing at the bit (chomping at the tire?) for this to transpire for years, and now it looks to become a reality!

Thanks again to all of the OWOW gals that participated in this meeting and to the city for their progressive attitudes toward urban bike lanes. Kudos to the province for the Penticton to OK Falls route to boot!
