Campbell Mt. Coyotes
While hiking around the backside (eastern slopes) of Campbell Mt. today, I happened upon a gal on horseback.
She stopped to warn me that a pack of eight coyotes had been encircling her and her two border collies, and that she had to charge them repeatedly with her horse in order to drive them off and save her dogs. (!)
As such, I suggest that perhaps carrying a large can of pepper-spray might be a good call if you are flying solo or in the company of smaller dogs while enjoying Campbell Mt. this fall.
If approached by coyotes, by all means let em' have a blast; as they appear to need something really nasty to remember humans by...
