Critical Mass this Friday???
Is there a Critical Mass ride in Penticton?
If so, where do we meet on Friday?
If not, I am intrested in starting one over the next few months.

C.M. Ride
We've never actually had a Critical Mass Ride ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Critical_Mass ) in the Okanagan that I am aware of... However, once it warms up, I encourage you to 'lead on'! I have my proverbial plate full with club activities, but always encourage others to take up whatever cause might be worth pursuing in relation to cycling.

The link above is something to think about before having a ride of this nature in our town with our club name attached to it. Make sure to read some of the comments below the article as well.

We are the traffic
Critical Mass is designed to sho vehicle drivers that we are traffic also.
I have three sets of strobs on the front of my bike and three on the back. More on my helmet. Even with these lights, vehicle drivers crowd, honk and shout at me going down main street.
So far, some 46 people have contacted me privetly and think a May ride will be good in Penticton to let car drivers know that we are also the traffic and they are required to obey the law. After all, we slow down the traffice less than the car drivers.
I will leave this club name off the poster, as we are setting up a site on facebook in April. Hope to see everyone on the ride.
