Bike to Work Week 2011!!!

The 3rd Annual Penticton Bike to Work Week runs from May 30-June 3.

Sign up your workplace for this team event and get involved in all the free events and get entered for a chance to win lots of great draw prizes including 2 bikes!

Monday morning just over 100 cyclists participated and enjoyed the
yummy veggie burrito breakfast in Gyro Park sponsored in part by The
Bench Cafe.

A number of cyclists rode away with prizes such as travel mugs, Bike
To Work Week T-shirts, helmets, cycling gloves, tire pumps and other
great prizes. The winners of Monday morning cycling prizes: Mitch
M.-City of Penticton, Greta H.-Health Unit, Michelle R - ARC
Penticton, Glenn S - Bike Wenches, Garry L.-City of Penticton, and
Nicole D.

Tuesday morning, from 7am-9am, cyclists can enjoy snacks and coffee at
the corner of Carmi and Government Street and enter for another chance
to win one of many prizes.

Penticton is one of 17 communities taking part in Bike to Work Week
this year in 17 communities around B.C through "Bike to Work BC", a
not for profit organization whose mandate is to encourage cycling to
work as an alternate form of transportation, for fun, health and to
lesson our impact on the environment

It's not too late to register for Penticton Bike to Work Week and be
eligable for the grand prize draw of one of two bikes sponsored in

The rain held off just long enough for people to get to work dry!
