Beaverdell Rd – 201 Trail Network
Spent Saturday afternoon riding around the (massive) trail network that the Penticton Outdoors Club has created over the past couple of decades, located at the junction of Beaverdell Rd. and Road #201.
It might not be the best opportunity for mountain bikers due to its distance from Penticton as well as its vastness; which hampers any kind of regular maintenance program, but for winter recreation, I believe it to be a proverbial gold mine (deep snow covers deadfall).
As noted, the area covered by these trails is significant, check out this image comparing the Carmi XC Rec. Trails (on the left) to the Beaverdell / Road 201 trail network (on the right).
Here are a few pics of the day’s exploration:
With a little help from my friend; KLX-R 250 :-)
The area is beautiful, roughly based on Ellis Reservoir #4
The dual-track trails are nice...
...but the real gems are, of course, the singletrack!
All of which are quite well-marked
I'm working on GPS'ing the entire trail network in order to make it more inviting for the public. This might take a while to say the least, but one day the area will be easier to navigate by recreationalists.
