New Beaverdell Rd. ("Carmi") Trail
Jim, Mike, Curt and I rode the XC trails up Beaverdell Rd. ("Carmi") in conjunction with the Ellis Canyon trail - and finally got to ride the new section of Ellis Canyon trail that we put in a few weeks ago up to the Garnet Fire Interpretive Center. As it turns out, the steady hill that looked like it was going to be a slow train to pain is indeed rideable! In fact, the whole section, right up to (and including) the unfinished bit near the Garnet Fire Interpretive Center parking lot itself is rideable - in one shot!
As such, don't fear it :-) If my beer-butt can make it up there, all of you can ride it!
The trail is soft at present but will firm up under foot / bike traffic / pounding rain.

Went up for under an hour of trail-work this afternoon; got driven to madness by the newly resident mosquito population - those rains had an undesired effect...
