Wheels in motion for cycling network upgrade
The City of Penticton will be wheeling out a public consultation process on how to add spokes to its cycling network through town.

Engineer Ian Chapman presented a cycling plan update by Urban Systems to council Monday, highlighting some surprising figures about how much Penticton bikes are used.

Unfortunately it's the whole council meeting so it's a huge file. The minutes are posted once they are approved at the next meeting I believe.

The discussion on the bike lane network is at 33 minutes. You can hear that vassilaki and ashton would still like to see government at 4 lanes instead of bike lanes. lidtke, jakubeit, and konanz spoke in favour of enhancing the bike lane network.

The South Okanagan received two major grants today to improve walking trails in the area, with the announcement of more than $600,000 in grants from the provincial government.
