Agur Lake (and general Land Occupancy Permits) Empty Agur Lake (and general Land Occupancy Permits)

Dino and I did some looking around at trails in the vicinity of Agur Lake today (Sunday) - the entire area is riddled with quad, dirt-bike, foot and game trails! I encourage folks to check out the place; walk or flag a line, GPS it and then apply for a License of Occupation for between 10 - 30 years with the feds. Ya, I hope to foster some kind of movement towards 'legit' trails every now and again... In my way of thinking, it would be great if we could spend our hours in the forest building trails that were on the up and up; never having to be concerned that we might be in crap for working on land that had been tenured to some other party. The forms are here:

..if you wanna' have a look and get the feel for the process. The exact details of this form are described midway down page 13 on this document:

I for one, hope that we can look at projects like this under the umbrella of the Association of Penticton & Area Cyclists. It would kick butt to have some flowy, 'legal' single-track trails in the valley, on land that we acquired ‘by the book’ – not just stumbled into and built upon... always to be left wondering "how long will this last?"
