Spent some time at the Land Titles office last week, attempting to get to the bottom of exactly ‘who owns what’ in the Three Blind Mice trail network. The map below demonstrates that - much to my surprise - nearly everywhere we ride in the Mice is on Crown Land of some sort. I have not yet figured out why these areas are parceled off, unlike the general mass of Crown Land that we see above it, but I do know for sure that its 'ours' (Canadian tax payers).

There also appears to be a special designation for the lower left of middle land parcel, near Bull Pass - I have been informed that it is a land preserve, and based on what I have seen there myself; I believe that it is for Western Diamondback Rattlesnakes.

Just thought that I would put this information ‘out there’ for everyone, as I get asked this question a lot – and have never really had a concise answer before now…

PS: Much of the Crown Land above is leased for cattle grazing by Palmer Sather, a very cool old cat who thinks highly of mountain bikers. Be cool while recreating on his leased land and the Sather family will always dig us being there. Palmer will be passing the lease-hold to his son in the next few years; lets work on impressing his son with our demeanor as we did his father!
