100/108 Mile House, Williams Lake & Kamloops
Enjoyed some excellent road Trippin' north of Kamloops this week. Louise and I visited several riding communities (equestrian & Mt. bike) over the course of the trip, including Lac La Hache, 100 & 108 Mile House, Williams Lake and Kamloops. Along the way we met and rode with a large array of most excellent Cariboo residents and enjoyed amazing scenery! The pic's below tell the story;
Colorful Hills Through Cache Creek
Lac Le Hache; Beauty' Cabins - $50.00 ea. / 4-riders (South of Williams Lake)
Williams Lake Tourism Center - Mt.Biking Featured Front & Center!
Another shot (inside) the Tourist Info' Center - The best IC I've seen to date!
One of my 'rides' - "Bandit"
Another 'ride' in the Cariboo - "Jess", a big powerful momma!
Trail Dog Extreme "Buddy" - Run with horses and dig in manure; Dog Nirvana!
100 Mile House has a Jay Hoots designed Skills Park - We need to get on this folks!
The Cool Cats & Kittens that I rode with outside of 100 Mile House
100 Mile House - Well Signed Trails (note the signage; same as BC Hydro / BC Gas etc.)
Kamloops Bike Ranch - Just under a mile long, located in a wild gully!
Kamloops Bike Ranch - Trannie
Kamloops Bike Ranch - Little Ripper... Rippin'!!!
Here is the Google Earth track for the 108 Mile House "Main Loop" if you find yourself up that way; solid people, great XC trails! And here is the Cariboo Mountain Bike Coalition's website: http://ridethecariboo.ca

Williams Lake ROADTRIP!!!
So the Flyin' Frenchman and I are talking about arranging a !!!ROADTRIP!!! to Williams Lake next month; May 18th to the 20th. The event we'll be checking out is the Williams Lake Peel Out;
http://ridethecariboo.ca/events/peelout
Williams Lake is the BC interior's most sophisticated mountain bike mecca - mostly because of the hard work of a dedicated group of riders / trail-builders, but also because these trail-faithful worked with city council in securing permission to build and maintain legal / sanctioned trail out the wazoo -- with properly built stunts galore!
We're keen to ride a bunch of the (MANY) trails that the place has to offer, meet local riders and have a hella' great time! Check out the Williams Lake trail network:
http://ridethecariboo.ca/trail-networks/williams-lake
Snakes & Ladders is a definite visit while we're there:

I suggest that accommodations might be sought at the beauty' cabins that Louise and I stayed at last fall - though many options exist. You're looking at about $65.00 per person, per night, tax in', for your own room in a cozy cabin on the lake.
If you want "in" on this, its a "no copping out unless you have a family tragedy" kinda' thing, as otherwise you are messing with the other participants funding of the gig as a whole...
Who's interested in ROAD TRIPPIN'?

We got a call from the brother in law. They may be visiting that same time. I may not be able to go.

I think that its high time that you taught your brother in law to ride! Get him on a few DEMO bikes and next thing you know he'll be draining his bank account for bikes and parts, spending all of his free time in the mountains and drinking dark beer; you know... "Manning Up" :-)

Road Trip - Part II?
I'm looking at a Road Trip to Williams Lake in late Sept., thinking about the 13th, 14th and 15th.
Riding will be blue / black diamond, mostly around W.L. area. Accom' will be in modern cabins on the lake at $55.00 per night.
Scouted the area last year, its really nice and the locals have organized something fierce for trail-building / trail-signage. Have all of the maps if anyone is interested in having a look-see at what they have to offer.
Bring canoe / kayaks if you are interested, do some BBQ, beer, soccer after rides?
Anyone interested?
