City Cycling Network Plan
This afternoon, Rowena and I hosted a booth at the SOEC and enjoyed a presentation by Andreas Rohl; Copenhagen Cycling Network Manager, highlighting the City of Penticton's Bike Network Plan Open House and discussion forum. Slowly but surely, I do believe that the powers that be at city hall are beginning to take bike networks seriously - at least those within city limits.
A compliment of officials of various rank and file enthusiastically attended the event, which was also enjoyed by perhaps 100 city residents. Given the topic at hand however, I was surprised that so few individuals took the time to attend this well scheduled and publicized event.
I urge all of you to take a few moments out of your day to provide your two cents worth on the developing project that is the City of Penticton urban cycle planning. This is more important than any of you may realize; its you, its your friends and family, its future generations that we get to make really great decisions for here. Its the power to effect a positive change; and isn't that what everyone should strive for? Isn't that what we're always harping on our leaders to do?
Guess what; they're openly asking for input and direction - its on you here folks...
Anyone who has questions or comments about cycling in Penticton is welcomed to contact City Engineer Ian Chapman by calling 250-490-2532 or ian.chapman@penticton.ca

Then go to http://www.penticton.ca/bikeplan to find out more about the Cycling Network Plan and give feedback.
Please participate, I don't usually like the guilt tripping tactic, but seriously, if you don't participate you can't complain, and we will be stuck with mediocrity, as usual.

Re: City Cycling Network Plan
The Penticton Survey is Now Closed.
If you didn't complete the Survey, you have no reason to complain about what happens with Cycling in Penticton in the Future.
