Campbell Mt. Aka; the sand hill...
Rode the Campbell Classic loop this afternoon; was completely floored at the erosion from last nights downpour. Loads of beauty trail work in gullies washed away - fist-sized rocks and all! Weird, as it didn't appear to rain all that hard down here in the valley.
As such, for the umpteenth time I put the call out for people to pitch in and do some trail maintenance! The fact that Campbell Mt. is a true 'local favorite' but is composed of sand and clay means ongoing trail maintenance is the norm.
Unfortunately 95% of the valley's trail maintenance is being done by less than 5% of the riders - there is no other way to say this; LAME!
It doesn't even have to be an 'official bike club trail day' - any day that an excellent trail is damaged is a trail day!
Riding without occasionally maintaining trails is for posers and poachers: don't be one.
